I drew this for an Art Swap on MLP Arena. The theme was either Earth Day or Spring, so I went with Spring (as I've never been a fan of drawing trees and the like, LOL).
This is Star Catcher, the leader of the Pegasus ponies in the current line of My Little Pony. The Pegasi live on Butterfly Island, and this pic shows Star Catcher emerging from a Hibiscus bush, surrounded by her little magical butterfly friends, with the ocean and sky in the background.
Although ponies are drawn in a profile at least 90% of the time, I always feel like me drawing in profile is a cop-out; like if it doesn't have two eyes, I'm just being lazy, LOL. (I don't feel this way about other peoples' profile drawings, though.) Hence why my ponies are rarely seen in profile. Lame background as always. >_< I could not get the right effect on the rainbow reflecting in the water, so I just gave up and left it as is.
Drawn by hand and inked with a Calligraphy pen; colored entirely in Paint Shop Pro 8.
My Little Pony and Star Catcher are copyright to Hasbro.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
